Pre-Treatment Instructions for Radiesse

To ensure the safest, most comfortable experience and the best results, please review and follow these guidelines before your radiesse appointment:

Cold Sore (Herpes Simplex) Notice

If you have a personal history of cold sores, please contact the clinic prior to your appointment. Radiesse injected near the mouth can trigger a flare, and you may need preventative antiviral medication to ensure a safe, comfortable treatment.

3-5 Days Before Treatment

• Avoid blood-thinning supplements and medications when possible (consult your prescribing provider): fish oil, omega-3s, vitamin E, turmeric, aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen.

• Limit alcohol, as it can increase bruising.

• If you bruise easily, you may start Arnica orally (optional). We do have medical-grade products available at the clinic for $14.

• Avoid dental cleanings, major dental work, or vaccinations within 2 weeks of your appointment (before or after).

48 Hours Before

• Increase water intake

Day of Treatment

• If possible, arrive with make-up-free skin.

• Work out at least 2 hours prior to your appointment.

• Eat a light meal beforehand to prevent lightheadedness.

• If you tend to swell, you may take a non-drowsy antihistamine (such as Zyrtec) the morning of your appointment.

Reminders

Radiesse offers immediate structural support and long-term collagen stimulation, with gradual improvements in firmness and skin quality over the weeks and months following treatment.

Initial firmness is normal and reflects the inflammatory response needed to stimulate collagen production. This will gradually soften as the product settles.

• Please remember that bruising and swelling are likely and may last up to two weeks. Plan accordingly for any special occasions, vacations, family pictures, and events you may have coming up to ensure you look your best.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your Radiesse appointment is approximately 60 minutes, depending on the number of syringes used. We’ll begin with a focused consultation to review your goals, assess your anatomy, and confirm your treatment plan. Before-and-after photos will be taken to track progress. Treatment areas will be marked and reviewed with you prior to injection. In some cases, Radiesse may be hyper-diluted to create a consistency best suited for the areas being treated. You may see immediate improvement, though swelling, firmness, or bruising is common in the first few days. Final results continue to develop over the weeks to months that follow. Before you leave, you’ll receive clear aftercare instructions and guidance on what to expect as your skin heals.
