To ensure the safest, most comfortable experience and the best results, please review and follow these guidelines before your Cellenis Derma PRP appointment:
Cold Sore (Herpes Simplex) Notice
If you have a personal history of cold sores, please contact the clinic prior to your appointment. PRP injected near the mouth can trigger a flare, and you may need preventative antiviral medication to ensure a safe, comfortable treatment.
3-5 Days Before Treatment
• Avoid blood-thinning supplements and medications when possible (consult your prescribing provider): fish oil, omega-3s, vitamin E, turmeric, aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen. These can interfere with the platelet function.
• Limit alcohol, as it can increase bruising.
• If you bruise easily, you may start Arnica orally (optional). We do have medical-grade products available at the clinic for $14.
48 Hours Before
• Increase water intake
Day of Treatment
• If possible, arrive with make-up-free skin.
• Work out at least 2 hours prior to your appointment.
• Eat a light meal beforehand to prevent lightheadedness.
• If you tend to swell, you may take a non-drowsy antihistamine (such as Zyrtec) the morning of your appointment.
Reminders
• For optimal results and longevity, this treatment is best performed as a series. We recommend planning your second session approximately 4–6 weeks after your initial treatment.
• Cellenis Derma PRP is not an instant-gratification treatment. While some initial fullness may be seen, its true benefit comes from the slow release of growth factors that support collagen production and long-term skin health. Results develop gradually as your skin regenerates over time.
• Please remember that bruising and swelling are likely and may last up to two weeks. Plan accordingly for any special occasions, vacations, family pictures, and events you may have coming up to ensure you look your best.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your Cellenis Derma PRP appointment is approximately 60 minutes, though timing may vary slightly based on your treatment plan. We’ll begin with a focused consultation to review your goals, assess your skin and anatomy, and confirm that this treatment is the right fit for you. Before-and-after photos will be taken to help track your progress over time. The treatment begins with a small blood draw, which is then carefully processed using a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from platelet-poor plasma (PPP). This PRP is combined with a specially prepared plasma gel to create Cellenis Derma PRP. The treatment area will be gently marked, and you’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the plan before injections begin. The procedure itself is typically very well tolerated. Before you leave, you’ll receive clear aftercare instructions and a realistic understanding of what to expect as your skin heals and regenerates in the weeks ahead.
